Cross Lane Primary School

At Cross Lane, children in Key Stage 2 are taught French. At Cross Lane we understand the importance of languages teaching and learning to enhance children’s experience of the world and expand their options at secondary school and beyond. Cross Lane works closely with Rastrick High School, whose specialist language teachers provide schemes of work and resources to be taught in weekly lessons across Key Stage 2. Children thus receive specialist teaching resources overseen by a specialist teacher of languages, and they leave Cross Lane with a greater understanding of foreign languages and cultures, as well as valuable experience in the teaching and learning format of secondary education.
