Cross Lane Primary School

Miss. Hanson is the design and technology leader at Cross Lane. Although new to Cross Lane in September 2022, Ms. Hanson has worked at the school for extended periods over the last two years and has worked closely with colleagues in various year groups across the school.

Miss. Hanson has lead design and technology in her previous schools. She is eager to use her knowledge to guide the pupils to use their creativity and imaginations to design and make a range of products in real-life contexts. She is passionate about ensuring that all pupils reach their full potential in the subject and develop a range of skills that they will use into the future.

At Cross Lane we are following the Kapow scheme of work for design and technology. This will enable a clear progression of skills throughout key stage one and key stage two, ensuring full coverage of the National Curriculum objectives for the subject. Miss. Hanson will closely monitor the teaching and learning of design and technology and review the use of the Kapow scheme to ensure that the children are receiving a high-quality education in the subject.
